  Dear Parents:

This is a very important school year for your child.  This will be a challenging school year for your child and the first time that your child will take the Iowa  Test of Basic Skill as well as other testing designed to measure your child's academic progress.  Together, we can work toward the academic success of the children.  I also want what is best for the children in my class.  The students are building a foundation not only for this school year but for skills they will use the rest of thier lives.
 
The following is expected of your child:

• Come to school daily and on time
• Dress according in accordance with McKay School's dress code
• Exhibit appropriate behavior in school
• Bring school supplies to school

1. Notebook paper
2. #2 pencils
3. Box of 8 crayons
4. glue stick
5. McKay gym uniform

It is also suggested that a handwriting booklet is purchased so that students can have additional handwriting practice.







Your child's enrichment classes are as daily from 12:30pm - 1:10pm.  The enrichment schedule for our class is as follows:


       

Monday	Tuesday	Wednesday	Thursday	Friday
Music	Library	Art	Gym	Science Lab

I am available for conferences while the students are attending Enrichment classes.  Additional times for conferences are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00am - 8:25am.

Students of the McKay Elementary School are required to dress in accordance to the McKay School Uniform Policy.  The uniform for students is as follows:

 Girls' Uniform:   

White blouse

Navy slacks, skirt or jumper

Black shoes
