Introduction

Welcome to the Ancient Egyptian: Kings and Queens curriculum web. This curriculum web aims to engage middle school students in a self-discovery of the mystical and complex beliefs of ancient egyptian culture. The predesigned lessons will allow students to acquire historical accounts of these traditions. Activities are designed to engage students in the process of evaluating and interputing information. It fosters cooperative work ethics, allow students to become decisive thinkers and address the needs of diverse learners.

The research on Tutankhamun involves critical decision making on the cause of his death.

A webquest on King Akhenten develops self-inquiry skills as students explore the chosen web sites.

The activity on three queens involve students in a comparison analysis of their reign and character.

Vocabulary activities center around the acquisition of knowledge about Egyptian words and how they were written by the scribes, Egyptian writers. Crossword puzzles and the creation of a personal cartouche add excitement to the learning process.
