After 15 years as a librarian with the Chicago Public Library I changed careers and became a school librarian in 2001. I enjoy working with the children, helping them become proficient users of information.

My goal is for our students to be comfortable in any library. I hope to enable them to find resources for their school assignments as well as their pleasure reading.

The best part of this job is the opportunity to be creative. I have the chance to develop projects and reading programs without the restrictions of a textbook.

I am a single mother of a 13 year old boy, Danny, who also goes to Stone Academy. We have a cat, Annika, named after a character in one of my favorite children's books, Pippi Longstocking.

I am originally from Germany where my family still lives in Berlin/Schmargendorf.

We live in Rogers Park, just south of Evanston on the shores of Lake Michigan. In my free time I go for long walks along the lake and take yoga classes. I also work at Borders Books and Music in Evanston.

I love to travel. My favorite vacation spots are Ireland, Sweden,and the Western United States. I would love to take some time off and travel around Australia and New Zealand.
