Understanding of class rules and procedures will determine your success in physcial education. Please read the following material so that you'll understand what is expected of you in class.

ATTENDANCE - You are expected to be in class on time.
You should be dressed in your p.e. uniform and on your p.e. number 5 minutes after the tardy bell. If attendance is being taken and your number has been passed go to the end of the line and your attendance will be taken there. If you come to class after attendance have be taken it is your responsibility to see the teacher before you leave the class.

ATTENDANCE GRADING
1. 3 ABSENCES - grade lowered 1 letter grade.
2. 3 TARDIES -  grade lowered 1 letter grade.
3. CUTTING CLASS (unexcused absense.)Your grade will
   lowered 1 letter grade for each unexcused absence.
   5 cuts will in your failing p.e.
4. MAKE-UPS - Excused absences as a result of
   missing class can be madeup by written work or
   by attending another class. Makeups are to be
   made up with me not a substitute teacher.
5. Any class assignment which is not turned in on
   the date specified will not be accepted. All
   written class assignments are to be typed, and
   are to be submitted with a title page, your name,
   your gym period, and your gym number. please
   staple all papers and place in a plastic folder.

GYM UNIFORM
1. The standard gym uniform will consist of the
   following items:
   a. a Kenwood t-shirt or a plain white t-shirt.
   b. red shorts or red sweat pants.
   c. white socks.
   d. shoes can  be any color but are to be able to
      be tied or laced or are to fit snuggly.
   e. no other school uniforms or nba, or college
      team uniforms will be allowed.
   f. It is recommended that each item is labled
      with your proper name. Last name first,
      first name. Use a black marker and your
      name should be at least 3 inches in
      height. Neatness counts.

UNIFORM GRADING
Inspections - uniforms are to be clean and free from rips, tears, stains and other markings. Every Monday uniforms will be inspected and you will pass or fail the inspection. Not wearing the proper uniform will result in demerits being given and reducing gym grade.

DEMERITS
5 pts. no uniform.
2 pts. for each item of uniform missing.
  (t-shirt, shorts, socks, etc.)
These points will be deducted from 100 pts.

Wearing of another person's uniform will result in your being marked unprepared for class. Wearing of jeans underneath uniform will result in your being marked unprepared for class and result in your receiving demerits.

MEDICAL EXCUSES
All medical excuses are to be given to me at the beginning of the p.e unit or as soon as you find that you have a condition that will prevent you from taking p.e. Medical excuse must be valid excuses from a certified doctor.

GRADES
your grade will be a composite of your attendance
grade, your uniform inspection grade, class assignments
and your overall willingness to participate in p.e.
I will evaluate how you follow these tasks and in the
manner that you participate in class and that assessment will also factor into your class grade.

90 - 100 -A
80 -  89 -B
70 -  79 -C
60 -  69 -D
below....-F

There is a physical education fee of $5.00 and it is to be paid immeadiately.

P.E. is a requirement for graduation. It is also meant
to be fun and have health benefits. Enjoy the year.

Please print your name neatly and legibly and have your parents read and sign and return to me. I will place it on file and it will be the first class assignment of the year. Thank you.
