FAMILY:
I am the oldest of three children. I was born in Chicago at Jackson Park Hospital.  My brother Harry, who was one year younger than me, passed away in a swimming accident eighteen years ago. He is survived by his wife Debbie and his two children Dominick and Antony. My sister Noreen, who is two years my junior, is married and has eight children; Mary Jane, Louis, Bill, Tammy, Noreen Jr. Tina, Terry, and Cathy. Aside from having ten wonderful nieces and nephews, I have also been blessed with 16 great nieces and nephews.

CAREER: I have had many "careers" throughout my life thus far.  I began working as a waiter/busboy/cook/dishwasher in my father's restaurant "Guys and Dolls" at age eight.  At age eleven
I added a job as a paper boy.( My route ended right in front of the Danish Bakery where I spent most of my weekly paycheck.)  Throughout high school and college I held various jobs including; dock worker, shipping and receiving clerk for a biological firm, physical therapist trainee, and Physics storeroom keeper and undergrad lab instructor assistant at the University of Chicago at Ryerson. After finishing college, I worked as a commercial artist for an advertising firm in downtown Chicago. After two years as a commercial artist, I decided that I would like to do something more personally rewarding (and unfortunately, less monetarily rewarding.)  Hence, I became a teacher.  I originally began as a Learning Disabilities teacher and am now a third grade teacher at Ray Elementary School.
I have been at Ray for twenty years.

  PETS:
My pet family consists of two cats that we adopted from Tree House two and one half years ago.
They have become best friends and have brought many hours of pleasure and company to our home, not to mention several thousand dollars in vet bills and cat food.

                       SPEEDO                                                       BILLY BOY

Speedo is fifteen years old.  When we adopted him, we were told he was deaf.  This was quickly dispelled the first time a can of cat food was opened in the kitchen and Speedo heard it from the bedroom (about thirty feet away.)  So much for human observation.

Billy Boy is three years old and worships the ground Speedo sleeps on.  Billy was abandoned as a kitten and was found dying in a flooded basement.  He came to us with issues and we are still working with him to resolve them. So far, so good.

  HOBBIES

I have many hobbies, but not enough time to engage in all of them with frequency.  I love to draw, paint, and sculpt.  I also sing with a group called "Not Yet At The Met."  We perform periodically at nursing homes, the Old Town School of Folk Music, and at various clubs around the city. I also am a student of the piano and guitar.  I also enjoy reading, baseball, cooking Thai and Italian, and playing Nintendo 64 and Play Station
