Organization and Structure of WIT 2000

The Web Institute for Teachers consists of the following organizational elements:

Homerooms

  Morning Afternoon
Advanced Alpha Beta
Basic

Gamma

Delta

Epsilon

Zeta

Each homeroom has two mentors. Mentors will do the following: 

  • oversee the basic organization of each day's work (attendance, site of the day, teaming, assignments, schedule, presentations, etc.) 
  • provide introductory training and overviews of more advanced topics during homerooms 
  • answer the specific questions of individual participants and teams of participants (or to refer these questions to other mentors or to the director)
  • establish and maintain standards for the quality of work
  • assist with setup and maintenance of the Institute's server file structure
  • administer pre- and posttests and evaluations (of modules or "shelves")
  • organize and administer the process by which Institute participants choosing special topics 

  • teach one or more "special topics workshops" during the Institute
