Plenary Session
Speaker: Elaine Williams, Chief Technology Officer, CPS
Elaine Williams is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Chicago
Public Schools (CPS). Prior to her appointment to that post in April 2000,
she was an Associate Attorney in the Law Department where she oversaw
all CPS bond, note, lease and other financings. In 1999, she supervised
the issuance of more than $1 billion in municipal bond transactions on
behalf of the Board of Education. Ms. Williams, born in Omaha, Nebraska,
is a graduate of Amherst College (B.A., 1980) and the University of Chicago
School of Law (J.D. 1983).
