Most web pages have images on them. Any picture you see on the
Internet is an image which you can, in theory, grab and insert
into your own web page. This includes borders and symbols, as
well as photos and cartoons. It is important to keep in mind the
legal ramifications of stealing images on the Internet, which
I will explain more about in a bit.
You can get thousands of images from Clip Art sites on the Internet.
All you have to do is run a search for "clip art" in
a portal such as Yahoo and you'll get links to hundreds of sites
which have free clip art. Be more specific in your search (i.e.
education clip art) and you'll see better results.
You can also get images from different software programs, which
are, in fact, where I found the images you see on this site. These
software programs do cost money, but they make it easy to find
exactly what you want.
You can also get images from yourself. Huh? What I mean is that
you can make the images yourself by taking digital photos or scanning
in existing photos or drawings. Of course, you need additional
equipment to do this and is beyond the scope of this lesson.
