Bookmarking &
Saving/ Publishing Your Favorite Sites
Follow the instructions below to create a list and favorite sites, save them to disk and/or publish them on the World Wide Web.
Bookmarking Sites
1. Go to the page you want to bookmark by clicking on a link or typing in the URL in the location field.
2. For PC, hold down the "Bookmarks" button on the toolbar and then select "Add Bookmark". For Mac, do the same or hold down CRTL and D at the same time.
3. Click on "Bookmarks" on the menu bar and you will see the page on the list.return to Explore page
Saving Bookmarks to Floppy Disk
1. For PC and Mac, click and hold down "Bookmarks" on menu bar, then select "Edit Bookmarks".
2. Click on "File" and then "Save As" (the save bookmarks file window appears).
2. Select the location to save the bookmarks file (3 1/2 inch floppy drive).
3. You can change the name of the file if you like, then click save. Your bookmarks are now saved to disk so that you can take them with you.return to Explore page
Publishing Your Bookmarked List
1. You can put your bookmarked list on the World Wide Web so that it can accessed anywhere there's an Internet connection. First, save the bookmarks, per the above instructions, and close the bookmarks window.
2. Make sure you are in Netscape Communicator, click on "File," select "Open Page" and then select "Composer".
3. Find and select your saved bookmarks file.
4. Click "Open" and the file will then show in the "Choose File" location field.
5. Click "Open" and then you will see your bookmarks in a Composer page.
6. Follow the steps for publishing, described in another module.
