Activity 2: Evaluating A Website Using The Site Critique Checklist
Part A: Find the Bogus Site. Visit several of the following web sites to decide which one you would like to evaluate using the checklist. Find the one that is bogus.

- American Library Association's Great Sites for Kids
Part B: Download and print the Site Critique Checklist to make written notes about the site you have chosen to evaluate. After you have scored the site, partner with someone who critiqued the same site and compare notes. Discuss any differences in your evaluations.
Note: Every site does not need to meet every one of these criteria to be a great site, but the higher the score, the more likely it is to be a worthwhile place to spend time. In addition to a site's score, you need to consider your own "mandatory" criteria. That is, if it is a sight that requires a system more advanced than the computers you can access, or if a sight requires a lot of reading and you teach first grade, a great sight still wouldn't be appropriate for your use.
