The WIT Teaching Guide Template will get you started with creating
a teaching guide for your curriculum or lesson plan. This page will
show you how. If you want to print a handout of this lesson, click
here.
Open the WIT Teaching Guide Template.
You will first open the WIT
Teaching Guide Template. This will open into a second Netscape
Navigator window. Then return here.
Save theTemplate.
Complete a File|Save as. . . Save it as "template.htm"
in your site folder.
Fill in the template.
Open the template file. (In Dreamweaver, simply double-click
on it in the site view. In Composer, choose "File|Open...")
Do not worry too much about what it looks like at this stage,
just brainstorm your thoughts, and then go back later and clean
things up. Use the plan, not as a finished document, but a work-in-progress,
not to be competed until the web pages are done and you can
really tell how it might be used in the classroom.
Save your teaching guide.
Be sure to save your teaching guide when you are done.
Upload your teaching guide.
Upload your teaching guide to the CUIP server.
Share your teaching guide.
After you've uploaded it to the server, show it to another
participant in your homeroom. Talk about what excites you about
the plan, and any uncertainties you have. Talking to other teachers
while developing your curriculum plan will help you consider
new approaches and perspectives, and will help your curriculum
web to be useful to other teachers.
