Defining the Activity Formats

Within groups of four, each member should choose one of the roles described below. Read the descriptions of the activity type that corresponds with your role, look at an example, and, finally, complete the chart (handout or online) for your activity type. After 20 minutes, meet with your group to present your activity type, hear presentations of the other activity types, and complete the remainder of the chart. E-mail the completed chart as an attachment to your mentor. Choose a role:
	Hotlist Highlighter: You are responsible for completing the section of the chart on hotlists. What is the purpose or goal of a hotlist? What technical expertise do teachers and students need to have to develop and/or use a hotlist? How many links should a hotlist include? Are hotlists applicable to long-term or short-term projects or assignments? What types of activities do hotlists include? 	Knowledge Hunter: You are responsible for completing the section of the chart on knowledge hunts. What is the purpose or goal of a knowledge hunt?
