1. Review ETA Homeroom Procedures

Take time to revisit discussion from yesterday and be prepared with questions.

2. A brief exercise to reintroduce ourselves. Please tell the group two important facts about yourself. Well, you don't have to be really serious.

4. The ETA Homeroom URL (web address) is the location of our virtual homeroom. This site is being built as we meet and create it. This is your space, we welcome your input in the direction of these pages.

5. Two of the most popular browsers are Internet Explorer and Netscape. Now, we will work on the Using a Browser and Bookmarking module. The aim of this module is as follows:

This module is designed to provide WIT participants with a basic knowledge of using a browser and book marking as it specifically relates to Netscape.

7. We will use email extensively. Each of you have an email address. This information is in your folder. Some of you already have addresses that you would prefer to use. Our next module Using WIT/CUIP Webmail. The aim of this module is as follows:

The aim of this module is to introduce the WIT/CUIP webmail and provide an overview of some of it's features.

8. Each homeroom has a listserve with all homeroom participants subscribed to one email address. When you email a message to witeta-l@lists.cuip.net, it will go to all of the participants in the homeroom. There is an email address that you can use to send messages to all WIT 2003 participants and mentors, it is wit2003-l@lists.cuip.net. You will be using the homeroom emaill address for the most part. If you would like to send a special message to the whole WIT 2003 community, you may do so. Please note, that the message will be moderated, this means that it will be read by WIT staff to determine appropriateness for sending to the whole group. You have to subscribe to listserves using your preferred email address. Please get your email address and go to the ETA Mail List Sign-up.
