Image Problems?

If you find that your images, backgrounds, etc... are not loading when you view your pages from another computer, here's why and here's what you need to do.

WHY? The computer sees links as either absolute or relative. Absolute means that the link is to the area of your hard drive, not necessarily to your page on the hard drive. Relative means that the link is always tied to your page.

This is not a problem if you're creating a page with images, backgrounds, etc.. from scratch and then save and upload it. It only seems to be a problem when you go to edit an already published page in Netscape.

WHAT CAN BE DONE? When you go to edit an already uploaded page here's what to do.

  1. Open the page in Netscape by typing in the URL or browsing from your directory
  2. Click file/edit page
  3. IMMEDIATELY click File/Save-As to save the page to your folder on the desktop.
  4. Close your edit/Composer page.
  5. Open the page you saved from your desktop folder and then edit it. This way any images, backgrounds, etc... will be relative to your page location.
  6. Save and upload and all should be fine.

Let us know if this doesn't help or if you need help with the steps.
