Practice: We
will spend some independent work time reviewing parts of the Composer
module. Time needed: Less than 20 minutes. Why:
By learning how to use software, such as Netscape Composer, teachers
are able to
develop class specific tasks, as well
as possibly teach students
how to create web pages! Netscape Composer is free and easy to use
therefore making web development possible for just about everyone! (And
the more you practice, the better you will be.) Practice
We will complete
and upload our personal profile pages.
Those who have not yet started must begin by editing this page in Composer. Personal
Profile Page Template
Those who started yesterday will need to open the file from their
WIT folders.
Next Module: Types
of Web LessonsAIM: The purpose of this lesson
is to introduce and familiarize teachers with a variety of web-based
lesson and activity formats. RATIONALE: After reviewing these formats, teachers will gain effective ways
integrate technology into existing units. Becoming familiar with
what
already exists
on the Internet--lesson plans, ongoing projects, references, Web
Quests and other learning activities--will give teachers a basis for
determining
what they might use from the Web and what they might contribute of
their own. Having access to a range of strategies will allow teachers
to determine
what fits best for them, their students, and with their curriculum.
More about Webquests: Start
here in the "Explanation" section, which is all about
the CONCEPT. Then go on to "Demonstration" and the following
sections, where we move from CONCEPT TO CLASSROOM! http://www.thirteen.org/edonline/concept2class/month8/index.html
