Process

WebQuests were first designed in 1995 by Bernie Dodge and Tom March, so it makes sense to start with a visit to Bernie Dodge's page and a visit to Tom March's site to learn from the masters!

  1. Read March's"Why WebQuests".
  2. Visit Dodge's "Training Materials" page. While you're there, be sure to visit Building Blocks of a WebQuest so you know the components of a good WebQuest.
  3. Choose the "WebQuest on WebQuests" that is appropriate for your grade level: Elementary, or Middle School & High School.
  4. Choose your roles: Efficiency Expert, Affiliator, Altitudinist, or Technophile. Print the appropriate evaluation form: 3-4 worksheet or middle/high school worksheet, and begin your quest! Use this rubric to evaluate WebQuests you visit.
  5. Come together to discuss the sites from each perspective. As a group, decide what you will present to the class about the sites you've evaluated.
