    We are going to investigate why the students are leaving the lunch room still hungry.Then we will design a menu for all the students that taste good, is good for you,with all the basic food groups that supply all the basic vitamins and minerals which are needed for a well balanced diet.

    PROCESS

  •          The class will be divided into five groups with each group assigned to a day of the week It will be the responsibily of      each group to design a daily breakfast and lunch menu. Each group will research the four basic food groups,and the vitamins and minerals each food group contain.Then prepare a breakfast and lunch menu that contain all required food groups.They must also present their daily menu to the rest of the groups, explaining the food groups included in their menu, vitamins and minerals that each food  group contain, and what health benefit each vitamin and mineral give for over all healthy eating habits.Posters,charts, and visual aids may be used during their presentation.They must back up their menu with facts showing that their menu is a well balanced diet.All other groups will judge the validy of the menu,determine if it meets the requirements, and determine if it will be part of the weekly lunch menu. After all menus are approved,a weekly menu will be put together and submitted to the lunchroom manager for possible consideration

        EVALUATION

          After the students have researched the subject and visited  designated sites they will learn the different food groups and the nutritional value of the different food groups.Also the correlation between the food groups, and vitamins and minerals.With this information, as a group they will design a daily breakfast and lunch menu including all the food groups. They will then as a group do a presentation to the rest of the class showing their menu, and explaining the nutritional value of their menu and explaining the vitimins and minerals their menu offers. The teacher(head chief ) along with the rest of the class will determine if its a proper diet, if all food groups have been incorperated,if its nutritional,if the menu offers the vitamins and minerals a proper diet needs, and if the group has correlated the food groups and vitamins and minerals properly.If all these guildlines have been met it will be accepted and become part of the classes weekly menu.We will discuss the menu as a class and determine if it meets all requirements if any changes have to be made we will make the appropriate changes.
