Krazy Keyboarding for Kids

LESSON 2

REVIEW HOME KEYS

STROKING KEYS

Now that you know where the home keys are, think about how you're striking them.

POSITION

Check your position at the keyboard.

  • Are your fingers curved over the home row?
  • Are your arms, wrists, and hands in line with the keyboard?
  • Are your elbows relaxed at your sides?

Don't let your hands get lazy.

  • Keep your wrists off the keyboard frame.
  • Keep your fingers curved.
  • Keep thumbs above space bar.

WORDS

Look at lines 1, 2, and 3. What's different about them? Right -- they contain words.

Keyboard lines 1, 2, and 3 at least twice. Be sure to use good stroking. Use your right-hand thumb to space between words. Do not key the line numbers.

1. as as lad lad all all ad ad sad sad lass

2. ask all; ask dad; ask a lad; as all fall

3. as dad falls; as a lad falls; a sad fall
