DREAM JOB PART I

What would your dream job
look like?

Now that you have completed the Interest Survey
and completed your online research, you are to
begin thinking about what your dream job would
be and look like. I'm sure you will probably agree
that you would someday like to do a job that you
love and that makes you feel excited about going
to work each day. Assume that you could be paid
an adequate compensation to do whatever job
they wanted done.

Task:
For this project you are to

(1) create a classified ad for your dream job and
(2)create a "Dream Career Summer" brochure for your dream job..

Procedure:

Have you ever thought about what your dream job would be? What would you do? Where would you
work? Here is your opportunity to create a job that is just right for you. Visit the Web sites and do
some research about jobs you think you might like. Reference job search Web sites to find
descriptions of opportunities after which to pattern your ad. Think about your skills and interest and
answer the questions below. When you finish, turn your responses into an ad that will search for the
perfect employee -- you!

3. Do you enjoy working on task alone or with a group?

 

4. What are some of the task that you feel you do well?

 

5. List at least three jobs that are of the most interest to you. Of the three which is of most interest to you and
what have you learned about it through your research?

 

6. What kind of salary range can someone of your occupation choice demand?

 

7. What part of the country is your occupation choice in the most demand? Where would you like to live when
you enter the work force?

8. What are some of the organizations for which a person of your occupational choice are in demand? For what
kind of organization would you like to work? Why?

 

9. How much schooling will you need to work in the industry you've chosen?

 

Use your responses to the above questions to create a classified ad like those you saw on the web.
Make sure you include the name of the organization, location, position, salary, responsibilities and
qualifications for the successful candidate. Use your imagination to create the job of your dreams!
