Aim
The purpose of this unit is to provide students with
the resources necessary teach part of a poetry unit to a class. Students
will use the information that they learn in order to create poetry books.

Rationale
Poetry provides a unique and creative way for students
to express themselves. This lesson provides students with an additional
resource for viewing several different styles of poetry. In addition
to learning about poetry, students also have the opportunity to utilize
technology.

Instructional
Plan
This unit is designed to be used in cooperative groups
or with individual students as a facilitator guiding the students. The
students should be able to navigate through the Web Quest at their own
leisure.
This unit should be used as supplement to a poetry unit, and should
not stand alone.
Students will research sites and learn about various forms of poetry,
share what they learned with the rest of the class and create poetry
books.

Students will need:

-WordPerfect or any other word process program that will convert -files
from WordPerfect
-a poetry journal
-paper and pens
-Language Arts or Reading Textbook
