Interviews: family history- Interviews concerning ancestors' arrival in Chicago

An Interview is the recorded conversation between a person asking questions to a person of interest. The idea is to get answers to questions that relate toa particular topic. Read one of the linked interviews below.

Notice how the interviewer's questions almost always deal with one of the following questions:

  • who
  • what
  • where
  • when
  • why
  • how

Read these interview. Think about what kind of question is asked each time. List the type of question in the order of the interview.

Our topic here is Chicago as the destination for living. You are to identify a person in your family who first came to Chicago. If this person is no longer with us, interview someone in your family who knows how your family came to Chicago. Your interview should have at least 24, using at least four of each type of question.
