Introduction
Do you know what you want to do after you graduate from high school? This is the time to plan for YOUR future. Let’s take a look at reality and see where your dreams take you. Right now, you need to develop a career plan. We are going to complete a WebQuest to assist you in learning about yourself, your interests, abilities, skills, and aptitudes. You will also research three different careers in order to write an effective resume and prepare for a job interview.
The Task
You are going to look for information on careers that interest you.
The Process
  1. The first thing that you need to do is to find out what careers you might possibly like..

  2. Now go to the following sites, take the quizzes, then print your results and write them in your notes.

  3. OK, now what did you learn about yourself? Did you get any new ideas? Or did the same suggestions for careers come up on different assessments? Look for common things in the different assessments. Give this some thought! Choose 3 different careers that you find interesting from the same area or from different areas.

  1. Next, you need to go to the career web sites and research your 3 career choices.
    2.  Finally, you will create a resume for yourself to be used at a future employment interview.

Conclusion

Did you find what you like?  Did you see what is necessary for you to get from this classroom to the career of your dreams.  Are you ready to go to work today?  This webquest has given you the opportunity to evaluate your strengths, weaknesses, goals, abilities, and aptitudes.  Your resume will give you the opportunity to obtain a better career.

Now, that you are finished, did you find a career that seems like something you would like to pursue? Did you discover another interesting career you may not have thought about before? Don't forget to keep all of this wonderful information organized in your notebook.
