Making Ice Cream
Introduction
Here's a riddle for you.
What's cold, smooth, creamy, comes in lots of flavors, melts all over your clothes, and cools you off on a hot, hot, hot, summer day?
Can you guess what it is?
Of course it's Ice Cream!
Task
Let's have some fun and make some ice cream to share
with your friends.
Pair up with a classmate who likes the same kind of
ice cream as you. You and your classmate will work together to make
your very own ice cream. After eating and enjoying your ice cream,
you and your partner will go to a website the teacher has made available
for you. You and your classmate will be making a "Virtual
Ice Cream Cone"
Process
You will need :
ice, rock salt, milk, heavy
cream, clear vanilla extract, cocoa, small and
large freezer bags, measuring cups
and spoons, newspaper, cups, and
plastic spoons
Take your large freezer bag and fill it half full of
ice.
Add 1/3 of a cup of rock salt to the ice. Seal
the bag and mix.
Take your small freezer bag and put the following
ingredients in:
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of heavy cream
2 tablespoons of sugar
Have fun and enjoy your ice cream.
