the origin on tall tales and also lists and explains the elements
of a tall tale. It provides links for students/teachers to read the
stories online. The site also has a story pattern to help students
in writing their own Tall Tale, simply cut and paste it to Microsoft
Word and tailor it to the level of difficulty/ease for your class.

Explore the differences and links between humor or nonsense and serious

Develop writing skills and demonstrate understanding of traditional

A detailed account
of the the man and the legend surrounding John Henry. This site also
provides resources for research about John Henry.
