Spreadsheet Practice Using Population Data II
First, enter the data shown in the picture into your spreadsheet
program. The picture
below shows how to head your paper, and how you should enter your data.

Once
your data is entered, write formulas that compute answers
for each of the questions. Write labels that will describe your data in Column
A, and the formulas that compute the answers in column B. Be sure to label
your answers. Put these under the data you have already entered.
Basic Questions

Find the total population in 2005. (Hint - Add the number of males and
females.)

Show how many more females than males are in the US.

How many married people were there in 2000? (Hint - a couple is two people)

How many more people lived in cites than in the rural areas? (Hint - metropolitan
means city, nonmetropolitan means rural).
Extra Credit Questions

About how many more people are there now than in the year 2000?
-
What percent of the population lived in cities in the year 2000? (Divide
Metropolitan population by the total population from the first question.)
