Introduction:
Have you ever wondered what a live dinosaur looks like? Well guess what - you probably have seen one!! It's called a crocodile!! During your webquest you will learn the history of this amazing animal, and gather facts about its life cycle and habitats. You will also discover why the crocodile is called the "king" of the dinosaurs
. Are you ready to take your journey? Good!! Let's give Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter) a run for his money!!

Task: 
You are now junior archeologists, anthropologists, and zoologists! You will be gathering facts about several aspects of the crocodile, and using these facts to give a classroom show and tell of what you have learned. Your presentation can be made in different ways, but should incorporate an un
derstanding of the following:
In order to accomplish your task your cyber mentor (that's me!) has already searched the web for the best possible sites for you to accomplish your research. Your job is to make use of your mini web to locate the information that you need for presentations.

Process:
Because I am truly a nice mentor, you may work with a partner, but pair names must be submitted in writing by the third day. In order to "dissolve your partnership," valid reasons must be presented in a persuasive, written format. If you and your partner decide that this is your best option, you must submit your paper by the end of the second week.

1. Begin the provided K-W-L worksheet on crocodiles. Complete the first two columns. Brainstorm everything that you think that you know. Remember, your thoughts are as valid as anyone else's!!

2. Everyone should keep a  journal of their findings. Make notations of the websites of where your facts are taken from. That way, if you need to verify something, you don't have to surf your mini web again and again. Spiral notebooks are best, but use whatever you have before you buy anything. Remember, good scientists are those who can prove that they have a fact, not an opinion.

3. Several fact worksheets will be available for your use to help organize your animal classification. Please, don't try to do more than the three required species during your webquest. You simply won't have time. You can come back on your own later.
Something for EVERYONE: Sorry, but there are two required mini projects within your overall  show and tell.
Final presentations are due at the end of week eight.

Mini projects, ma
ps, and final presentations, should all reflect an understanding of the subject, and the points highlighted under your task.

Conclusion:
Congratulations!! You've passed Steve!! Now go forth and be the next Indiana Jones!!
